Meet the Outland Pioneers Team

We’re a group of explorers, makers, and storytellers with dirt under our nails and curiosity in our hearts. From seasoned outdoorspeople to backyard adventurers, our crew brings real-world experience, practical know-how, and a healthy dose of wonder to everything we publish.

Rowan Ellis – Editor-in-Chief

Rowan grew up camping, hiking, and tinkering with old gear in her granddad’s shed. After years working in environmental education and outdoor retail, she now oversees the stories that shape Outland Pioneers. She’s passionate about sustainable living, gear built to last, and strong coffee brewed over a campfire.

Milo Reyes – Gear & Tech Editor

Milo is our resident gearhead and field tester, with a background in industrial design and a love for precision tools. He’s hiked solo through the Sierra Nevadas, designed his own camp stove, and believes the best gear review starts with a muddy trail. Expect deep dives and honest opinions.

Jada Moore – Survival & Skills Contributor

Jada has trained in bushcraft and wilderness survival across four different biomes and now teaches workshops on emergency preparedness. She writes no-nonsense guides for everything from water purification to fire-starting, all with a calm, can-do tone that makes the wild seem a little less wild.

Theo Grant – Wildlife & Conservation Writer

A former park ranger and lifelong naturalist, Theo brings a deep respect for the ecosystems we explore. He’s passionate about ethical hunting, foraging with care, and helping readers understand the wild beyond the trail. His articles always include a touch of awe and a lot of field knowledge.

Casey Lin – Homestead & Off-Grid Life Contributor

Casey left city life behind five years ago and hasn’t looked back. She now lives off-grid with goats, a massive pantry, and a love of slow living. Her writing helps bridge the gap between romantic ideals and real-world grit, with plenty of how-tos and honest lessons along the way.
